Don't waste your money! September 6, 2010 LeeLee 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
This is definitely NOT the type of diet advocated by Dr. Robert C. Atkins, M.D. If you're serious about improving your health as you lose weight, spend your money on the real Atkins diet books. "Dr. Atkins New Diet Revolution" is my personal favorite.
THE ATKINS "NEW BOOK" September 6, 2010 Louise Sullivan 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
The "New Atkins For A New You" is VERY well written, easy to read, thorough, and explains the WOE (way of eating) perfectly. I especially like the fact that ALL foods are listed in the chapters of the phases for induction, ongoing weight loss, and pre-maintenance. As suggested on page 76, I use one of the online support forum threads under: [...] ~ forum ~ get started ~ any other new people want to buddy up. I just am thrilled with the success I have achieved because of this WOE. I highly recommend the book!!!
Low-Carb Success September 6, 2010 D. Dyess (Byhalia, MS) I heard one of the fellas from the Atkins Group on a People's Pharmacy radio interview, and my interest was peaked enough to read the book. I made some dietary changes based very loosly on the book's advice, and here I am more than 3 months later, several pounds lighter. I decided to cut out as much bread and rice from my diet as feasible. When others are eating sandwiches, I put my meat and cheese on top of a salad, with lots of garnishes, and I am quickly satisfied. My whole family has tried to cut back on the amount of food we are eating at each meal, and do some gentle exercise AFTER supper, such as walking or biking. I believe that the stabilizing of my glycemic level(by lowering the carbs) has helped a great deal, as well as working off the evening meal calories. Just be sure to use a good mix of common sense with the book and the diet changes.
Atkins, the Sequel August 28, 2010 Milkphobic (SCV) 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
I LOVE THIS BOOK!
If you're an old school Atkins practitioner & you are tired of thinking to yourself, "Bran-a-crisp? Pelican Punch?" this book is for you!
It ramped up my interest in Atkins again, and I was excited to see they've applied the science in new ways, including a vegetarian option.
It has really helped me to think about how and why I plateaued, and has given me the motivation to look at induction from a "whole food" standpoint, instead of letting the critics sway me with their fears about too much fat and too much protein.
Go, progress!
Great diet for everyone August 26, 2010 Roberta Brooks (EPSOM, NH USA) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Give it a try you have ALOT to lose, haha, clear, concise, but lots more receipes & easy to read infor on website. Still I am very glad I got this book, has alot of the "why things are the way they are with your metabolism" explained in it that you don't get any where else.
